About Katie

Katie Humphries writes short stories about family and friendship. Her stories, set in the Pacific Northwest and the American South, explore themes of honesty, identity, and control.

She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University, an M.A.T. in English as a Second Language from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in English from Davidson College. She has taught English as a Second Language at the university and high school levels, as well as abroad in Poland with the U.S. Peace Corps.

Katie currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her family, and she teaches English at Highline College.

In 2023, she attended the Bread Loaf Writer's Conference as a contributor in fiction.
